New Day, New Era
Today is November 4, 2008. It’s a Tuesday, and it’s Presidential election day. Brodi is 9, Aedyn is 5, my grandma Bena Mom died last month on Aedyn’s birthday. It’s fitting that my very first post to this blog also will mark a day in history. I have very little doubt that Barack Obama will beat John McCain in this Presidential election, and that we will soon see our first black President of the United States.
I also have fears that ignorance still runs rampant in this country, and that there may well be bad things to come. I pray there isn’t, as I am praying that Barack Obama will bring about the change our country needs in order to remain a strong power in the world. He has a good message, and if he is elected, I just hope he stands by his word and that the rumors of terrorism affiliation don’t prove true.
I don’t believe John McCain is the answer, so maybe Barack Obama will be. I guess we will soon see. The election isn’t over yet, so the tides could very well tip into McCains favor. Meanwhile, I am off to algebra class, to further my education and see where it takes me!
Change is coming, regardless of what I do or think, so the best thing I can do is move forward, and pray that God guides our country in the right direction. I have faith that he will!
